Pray in tongues*, and walk in love.
Our strength is always ministering to the ones we love, and the people we meet.
And that’s not just in preaching, its in whatever service we can give and the things we do to bless others.
Think about how teaching your work skills, serving the good people coming into the establishment you work in, or fixing your loved ones lunch help you cope on a down day?
Focusing on the ones we love and those we meet is how we cope.
“And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
“And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
“And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the holy spirit which is given unto us.”
We don’t glory BECAUSE OF the tribulations, but even IN, in the midst of, tribulation, as we hold fast to the love we have received and share it. As we hold on to hope, and act accordingly to the knowledge there will be more to life, the love of God is shed abroad.
We still grieve, we still acknowledge the tribulations are terrible and evil, but we keep on keeping on.
In Young’s Literal version, Romans 5:1-5: “Having been declared righteous, then, by faith, we have peace toward God through our Lord Jesus Christ, “through whom also we have the access by the faith into this grace in which we have stood, and we boast on the hope of the glory of God.
“And not only [so], but we also boast in the tribulations, knowing that the tribulation doth work endurance;
“and the endurance, experience; and the experience, hope;
“and the hope doth not make ashamed, because the love of God hath been poured forth in our hearts through the Holy Spirit that hath been given to us.”
Thus, we see it says as we stand in faith, as we stand in the love of God and act accordingly, we boast in the hope of the glory OF GOD, (not of tribulation or how wonderful everything is, because not all is wonderful,) even in the midst of tribulation.
And praying in tongues reminds us the love of God has been POURED in our hearts when we received holy spirit, pnuema hagion.
